2nd Japanese Language Singing Contest

Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata and Nihongo Kaiwa Kyookai Society (NKKS) organized the 2nd Japanese Language Singing Contest. The contest was open to anyone wishing to showcase their musical skills in Japanese language by choosing to sing songs of Japanese origin. 20 applications were shortlisted as finalists, and live streamed on 18 December 2021.
Mrs. Poonam Nand Dey, President of NKKS, highlighted the innovative ways in which such a contest was organized even during the pandemic. She thanked the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata for the cooperation to organize this contest, in addition to Tempink, the prize sponsor.
Ms. Risa Tamura, Vice Consul, Consul-General of Japan in Kolkata, congratulated and thanked all participants for their efforts put in to learn Japanese songs and putting up a musical show. She also announced the top 3 winners, judged by the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata, as follows.
1st Place: Ms. Anushka Saha (Song: Homura, Artist: Lisa)
2nd Place: Mr. Wreek Gupta (Song: Eden, Artist: Monkey Majik)
3rd Place: Mr. Shreyas V. Gonchikar (Song: Koiuta Tsuzuri, Artist: Horiuchi Takao)
