Grant Contract with Arun Institute of Rural Affairs (AIRA)

Under the Government of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) Scheme, on behalf of the Government of Japan, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. Masayuki Taga, signed a Grant Contract with the Director of the recipient organisation, Arun Institute of Rural Affairs (AIRA), Mr. Suresh Kumar Panda for the grant amount US$ 99,640 on 06 November 2019 at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan in Kolkata.
 

 
The grant will be utilized by the Organisation to implement a project titled The Project for the Residential Facility for Tribal Girl Students of Prabasini Educational Complex of AIRA in Kankadahad, Dhenkanal, Odisha, where they will be constructing a Hostel Building for around 180 Tribal Girl Students of their School.
 
In his speech, Mr. Taga stated that, “GGP Scheme has been contributing to uplift disadvantaged or unprivileged communities at grass-roots level since 1992 in Eastern India. From the very beginning to till date in Eastern India we successfully assisted more than 90 Projects. We expect the recipient organization, AIRA, to continue their dedication to the underprivileged and needy people in their region with the grant given today.
                           
Mr. Suresh Kumar Panda (the Director of AIRA) expressed his sincere appreciation and mentioned that An educational complex is running by AIRA since last 19 years with the support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India in a tribal low literacy pocket- Kankadahad block of Dhenkanal district. Present accommodation system is not able to provide the appropriate facility to the students in the Educational Complex. By the support of The People and the Government of Japan, through GGP Scheme, the inmates will get series of good facilities for reading and residing. We can assure that after completion of the project, we will ensure best of resources & infrastructure and equal opportunities to children to accomplish their educational goal.
