Providing Better Living to the Tribal Girl Students of Odisha

On September 29 (Wednesday), 2021, Mr. NAKAMURA Ken, Acting Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, along with the representatives of the organization, Arun Institute of Rural Affairs (AIRA) - Mr. Antaryami Rath, Chairman of AIRA, Mr. S.K. Panda, Director of AIRA and Mr. G.B Panigrahi, Chief Programme Coordinator and some guests inaugurated “The Project for the Residential Facility for Tribal Girl Students of Prabasini Educational Complex of AIRA in Kankadahad, Dhenkanal, Odisha” via online virtual conference.
 
  

Under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) Scheme, AIRA utilized the grant amount of US$ 99,640 to construct a 2 storied Residential Building and to procure some furniture and equipment. . 
According to AIRA, the Residential Building, supported by GGP Scheme will be utilized for the better livelihood of almost 180 tribal girl students and around 1,250 family members will be indirectly benefitted through the GGP Project.
 
Mr. NAKAMURA, Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata expressed his deep appreciation and encouragement to AIRA, stating about the works of the Organization in improving the livelihood and providing opportunity of education to the tribal girls of Odisha. He strongly believes that the Residential building, furniture and equipment supported through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) scheme will be utilized by the Organization in providing better livelihood to the children and people of Odisha.
 
Mr. S.K Panda, Director of AIRA, expressed gratitude to the People and the Government of Japan and mentioned that, the supported hostel building by GGP in AIRA’s campus will go a long way in providing comfortable living and thereby satisfactory learning atmosphere for tribal girl students of Odisha at present and in future times also. The new hostel will accommodate 180 students with good facilities to pursue their education towards building their future.
