Calligraphy expert from Japan, Ms. Hiroko Nagahama, conducted the workshop. She has been teaching and doing calligraphy in Japan for around 38 years. She has been conducting calligraphy workshops in several places in India.
Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. Masayuki Taga, graced the occasion and spoke how calligraphy represents the finer aspects of Japanese culture, as it requires one to put their heart and soul.
Around 70 participants, mainly the students of Japanese language, participated in the workshop and enjoyed hands on experience in this traditional art using traditional Japanese ink, brush and paper.
