Consul General Nakagawa attends Kikkoman Honjozo Chefs Connect

On 13 October 2022, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. NAKAGAWA Koichi and Mrs. NAKAGAWA attended an event organized by Kikkoman India Private Limited held at Oberoi Grand Hotel in Kolkata, together with Mr. Harry Hakuei Kosato, Director, Kikkoman India Private Limited and Mr. Tsuneya Katagiri, Country Manager India, All Nippon Airways. The event saw participation by professional chefs and restaurant owners of Kolkata, who turned up to network among fellow industry colleagues and had interesting conversations over good food cooked with Kikkoman naturally brewed all-purpose soy sauce.
Consul General Nakagawa mentioned in his speech how Kikkoman soy sauce is becoming popular in various cuisines worldwide. He also shared that he feels a strong connection between Japan and Bengal, as the people of both places are enthusiastic in preserving and developing their culture, as exhibited through Japanese cuisine and Durga Puja respectively, both of which are recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
