Consul General Mr. Taga visited NICED and Collaborative Research Center of OKAYAMA University

Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. Masayuki Taga, visited National Institute of Cholera & Enteric Diseases(NICED)and the Collaborative Research Center of OKAYAMA University for Infectious Diseases in India (CRCOUI), and met Dr. Dutta, Director of NICED and Dr. Okamoto, Head of CRCOUI on 30th June, 2017. Dr. Dutta and Dr. Okamoto explained that NICED plays a central role in research on infectious diseases in India, and CRCOUI has made significant contributions to Indo-Japan research collaboration for many years.

CRCOUI is conducting research on infectious diarrhea as one of the international research works under the Japan Initiative for Global Research Network on Infectious Diseases (J-Grid) program, launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Government of Japan.  Mr. Taga toured around the laboratories of the new building of NICED in Kolkata which was built in 2006 by JICA grant aid.
