Inauguration: The Project for the Construction of Shelter Home for Street Children and Schedule Caste Children in Parbakshi Village, West Bengal

Mr. Yasuhiko Tanaka, Deputy-Consul General of Japan in Kolkata inaugurated the shelter home for Schedule Caste children and street children with Mr. Sukumar Sau, General Secretary of the recipient NGO Chiranabin and Ms. Jui Dutta, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Howrah on May 30, 2018 in Howrah, West Bengal.
Under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) Scheme, “The Project for the Construction of Shelter Home for Street Children and Schedule Caste Children in Parbakshi Village, West Bengal”, implemented by the NGO, Chiranabin with the support from the People and the Government of Japan utilized the grant US $67,345 to construct a shelter home for needy children in the region. According to Chiranabin, through this project approximately 75 street children and Schedule Caste children will be directly benefitted with proper care, protection, treatment, nutritional services, education, social motivation and rehabilitation.
Mr. Tanaka, Deputy-Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, expressed his appreciation towards Chiranabin’s project for social upliftment and stated his strong belief that with the supported building the vulnerable section of the society around Parbakshi Village will be able to come within the mainstream of the society.
Mr. Sukumar Sau, General Secretary of Chiranabin, expressed his utmost gratitude to the People and Government of Japan for the financial assistance for constructing this Shelter Home for the Schedule Caste and the Street Children. They also mentioned that by this supported building they can accommodate more children in their home and they will be able to bring social motivation and rehabilitation among the neglected children of the area.
