Japanese Consulate Cultural Event: Japanese Literature Talk Session

On August 26, 2023, the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata, in collaboration with the Oxford Bookstore, held a Japanese Literature Talk Session entitled "Conversations on Japanese Literature and the Relevance of Tagore”.
The panelists included Professor Yasuhiko Komatsu of Aoyama Gakuin University and Former Professor Abhijit Mukherjee of Jadavpur University, who has been translating contemporary Japanese literature into Bengali.
They gave a lecture on the influence of Japanese literature such as Man’yoshu on Tagore's poetry as well as Bengali’s perspective on Japanese Literature.
