Darjeeling School Visit

The program ‘Hello Japan’, which introduces basic knowledge of Japan, was held at the following 3 schools of Darjeeling district of West Bengal.
 

St. Joseph’s School, North Point

St. Joseph’s School situated in North Point, Darjeeling was visited on 13 March 2018. Ms. Manami Kato, Vice Consul (Cultural Affairs), made a presentation to around 250 boys of grade 9, 11 and 12 on some basic facts about Japan including Japanese lifestyle and language. A documentary video on topics related to useful modern technology in Japan was shown. Thereafter, a fun quiz on Japan was conducted.
 

As a special item, a Japanese movie ‘Swing Girls’ with English subtitles were screened for the boarding students in the evening after school hours. The students intently watched the movie and thoroughly enjoyed the same.
 

St. Paul’s School

St. Paul’s School situated in Jalapahar, Patna was visited on 13 March 2018. Ms. Kato addressed around 150 students of grade 9, 10 and 12 and made a presentation on some basic facts about Japan including Japanese lifestyle and language. The students intently watched the video on a few aspects of Japan that was shown. Thereafter, the students enthusiastically took part in a fun quiz on Japan.
 

Himali Boarding School

Himali Boarding School in Doomaram, Kurseong was visited on 14 March 2018. Ms. Kato made a presentation to around 60 girls and boys of grade 6, 7 and 8 on some basic facts about Japan including Japanese lifestyle and language. They were shown a video on Elementary Japanese Schools. Thereafter, a fun quiz on Japan was conducted, at which the students impressed with their knowledge.
