Reception Celebrating His Majesty the Emperor's Birthday

Consul General NAKAGAWA Koichi hosted the reception celebrating His Majesty the Emperor’s birthday in Kolkata on February 20, 2024. Mr. Prabhat Kumar Mishra, Principal Secretary, Irrigation & Waterways Department, Government of West Bengal, attended the reception as the Chief Guest, together with other participants from various fields including the government, consular corps, business community, Japanese community, artists, and media.
In this reception, the prominent Kyogen group led by SHIGEYAMA Sengoro performed Kyogen, Japan’s comic drama.
Also, in this reception, products and food of the Japanese companies in India including Kolkata were displayed and offered. Japanese food such as Tempura and Sushi, as well as Indian dishes made with Japanese Soy Sauce were offered.
