Consul General NAKAGAWA presented a Certificate of Commendation to Prof. Gita A. Keeni (Japan Month Event)

On August 24, 2024, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. NAKAGAWA Koichi presented a Certificate of Commendation to Prof. Gita A. Keeni, Head, Department of Japanese, Visva Bharati, in recognition of her great contribution to the deepening of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and India.
Prof. Gita A. Keeni obtained her master’s degree from Japan in 1989, and she has been teaching at Visva Bharati for 35 years. She also produced several excellent translation, thesis, publications of his works into Bengali.
Also, Prof. Gita A. Keeni has played a key role in connecting her students with Japan.
Some of them traveled to Japan to work or study more about Japan, and some are now teaching in India.
Her various efforts has led to current cordial relationship between Japan and India.
