Medical Equipment Handing Over Ceremony for the Project for Provision of Medical Equipment for an Eye Hospital in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal

The Medical Equipment Handing Over Ceremony was conducted by Mr. Masayuki Taga, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata with Mr. Pramod Garg and some honourable members of the Lions Club of Siliguri Greater for the occasion in Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, Siliguri, West Bengal on April 24, 2017.
Under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Project (GGP) Scheme, Greater Lions Seva Nidhi implemented “the Project for Provision of Medical Equipment for an Eye Hospital in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal” with the support from the People and the Government of Japan, utilizing the grant of USD 72,222 for the procurement of 3 kinds of medical equipment; 1 Humphrey Field Analyser (HFA), 1 Constellation Vision System (Retina Surgical Equipment), and 1 Pachymeter with a Probe. According to Greater Lions Seva Nidhi, approximately 1,500 more patients annually will be benefitted for their eye treatment and recovery of their eye sight with those equipments.
Mr. Masayuki Taga, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, expressed his deep appreciation to Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, for their activities and remarkable achievement in providing service to the people of North Bengal. He strongly believes that the equipment funded by the Government and the People of Japan, utilizing the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) scheme, will contribute to the hospital in providing more services to the patients visiting the hospital.
Mr. Pramod Garg, the President of Lions Club, expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for extending their helping hand by sanctioning grants towards procuring the medical equipmen through GGP Scheme. He further promised to utilize the equipment’s in providing better treatment to the needy people of the area.
