Japan Talkies — Japanese Film Festival — (Japan Month Event)

From August 23-25, Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata organized Japanese Film Festival at the theater in Kolkata as a part of “Japan Month” 2024.
Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. NAKAGAWA Koichi attended the inauguration, and delivered a speech and hoped that the visitors, especially the youth, will understand more about Japan, through all the films that includes animes, and will become bridges between Japan and India in the future.
Chief Guest, Mrs. Minakshi Mishra, Director and Zonal Head, ICCR Zonal office East Kolkata, hoped that Japan and India will continue to be in good relations through film screening, fostered since the time of interactions between eminent Bengali film director, Mr. Satyajit Ray and famous Japanese film director, Mr. Akira Kurosawa
In the Japanese Film Festival, a total of 6 films were screened that consisted of animations and feature films with the theme of Japanese people’s love story and passion for work and so forth.
