Lecture on Akira Kurosawa: Glimpses of his Genius

Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata and The Japan Curry organized an online event where filmmaker, Mrs. Subha Das Mollick, delivered a unique and informative lecture on Director Akira Kurosawa on 4 September 2022, on the occasion of the director’s death anniversary. She presented an overview of Kurosawa’s early life and threw light on his work philosophy, movie shooting techniques and recognitions received. She also presented interesting scenes from some of his popular movies and explained how those scenes were shot during those times that reflected the unique vision and in-depth knowledge Kurosawa had about film making.
