Restore Vision to needless Poor Patients in Bihar

Under the Government of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) Scheme, on behalf of the Government of Japan, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. NAKAMURA Yutaka, signed a Grant Contract with the Secretary of the recipient organisation, Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), Mr. Satish Kumar “Satish Girija” for the grant amount US$ 85,214 on March 10 (Wednesday), 2021.

 

The grant will be utilized by the Organisation to implement a project titled “The Project for Eye Testing and Surgery Instruments for Restoring Vision of Needless Blind Poor Patients in Gaya and Adjoining Districts of Bihar”, where they will be for equipping Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), with 8 advanced eye equipment to restore vision to the poor patients. Through this project it will be made possible to provide smooth access of Ophthalmic medical services to approximately 7 million patients in Gaya and two adjoining districts Nawada and Jehanabad in Bihar, which currently do not have any Ophthalmic hospital at no charge or low cost for the poor except for hospitals run by NBJK.
 
In his speech, Mr. NAKAMURA stated that, Tomorrow, the 11th March is the 10th year anniversary of the Earthquake in Japan and Japan received a big support from India as well as from whole World and we never forget that support. NBJK has been entrusted with a huge social responsibility and I am sure they will make the best utilization of this opportunity.”
                     
Mr.Satish Kumar “Satish Girija” (the Secretary of NBJK) expressed his sincere appreciation and mentioned that The support from GGP Scheme, to procure eight essential equipment for our hospital in Gaya district of Bihar, will help in diagnosis, treatment and surgery to secure vision of 7 million people with eye problems.
