Ranchi School Visit

The Cultural Section of the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata visited the following 3 high schools in Ranchi, Jharkhand so as to interact with the students and acquaint them with Japanese culture.
 

Delhi Public School Ranchi


The Delhi Public School Ranchi situated right in the SAIL Township of Ranchi was visited on Tuesday, 12 September 2017. The event commenced with a brief presentation from Ms. Manami Kato, Vice Consul (Cultural Affairs), on some basic facts about Japan including Japanese lifestyle, language and culture which were very intriguing followed by the screening of a DVD containing interesting contents such as Origami, Robots, Noh Theatre and Koji which the students found quite interesting. The event ended with a fun Quiz session on Japan which received a huge applause. Around 400 students of grade 8 and 9 participated enthusiastically.

St. Xavier’s School

 

The St. Xavier’s School located at Doranda in Ranchi was visited on Tuesday, 12 September 2017. Ms. Kato made a presentation to around 150 students of grade 8 and 9 on some basic facts about Japan including Japanese lifestyle, language and culture. They were shown a DVD containing interesting contents such as Origami, Robots, Noh Theatre and Koji which they found quite interesting. The students were also overjoyed to participate in the fun Quiz on Japan that was conducted during this session.

Bishop Westcott Boys School


The Bishop Westcott Boys School located at Namkum, just in the outskirts of Ranchi city was visited on Wednesday, 13 September 2017. Ms. Kato made a presentation in front of the students of grade 9 on some basic facts about Japan including Japanese lifestyle, language and culture followed by screening of a DVD containing interesting contents such as Origami, Robots, Noh Theatre and Koji. All the 70 students were elated to participate in the fun Quiz on Japan conducted for them.
