Providing Better Livelihood for the People of Jharkhand

We take pleasure in informing you that on December 08 (Tuesday), 2020, Mr. NAKAMURA Yutaka, Consul-General of Japan in Kolkata, along with the representatives and some guests of the organization, Society for Environment and Social Awareness (SESA), inaugurated “The Project for the Construction of Vocational Training Centre for Economic and Social Empowerment of Tribal and Other Women in Difficult Situation” via online virtual conference.
Under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) Scheme, SESA utilized the grant amount of US$ 1,11,362 to construct a 2 storied Vocational Training Centre.
According to SESA, the Vocational Training Centre, supported by GGP Scheme will be utilized for the better livelihood of almost 200 tribal women and physically challenged, poor, widow, disserted, destitute women and around 1,500 family members will be indirectly benefitted annually through the Training Centre.
Mr. NAKAMURA, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of Japan in Kolkata expressed his deep appreciation and encouragement to SESA, stating about the works of the Organization in improving the livelihood status of the backward society. He strongly believes that the construction supported through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) scheme will be utilized by the Organization in providing better livelihood to the people of the Jharkhand.
Representative of SESA, Dr. Kaushik Mallik, General Secretary of SESA expressed gratitude to the People and the Government of Japan and mentioned that, the vocational training centre, supported by GGP Scheme will benefit tribal women and women in difficult situation of almost 10 to 15 villages and it will enroot their employment generation activities as well as it will empower them economically and socially.
