Calligraphy Demonstration & Workshop

On December 21, a Calligraphy Demonstration & Workshop was organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata and Nihongo Kaiwa Kyookai Society in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark. Eminent Calligraphy teacher from Japan, Ms. NAGAHAMA Hiroko gave a short lecture on Japanese Calligraphy and then demonstrated the fine artistic techniques of writing in Japanese language using a traditional brush, ink and other materials in front of around 70 students and Calligraphy enthusiasts. The participants also enjoyed calligraphy, writing various artistic Japanese characters.
