Japanese Ceramics Exhibition in Kolkata

On December 3, 2025, the Japanese ceramics exhibition titled: “YAKISHIME - Earth Metamorphosis” was inaugurated at the Indian Museum by Mr. ISHIKAWA Yoshihisa, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata and Mr. Arijit Dutta Chowdhury, Director of the Indian Museum.
Consul General ISHIKAWA said that Japanese exhibitions like YAKISHIME, play a vital role in Japan-India relations by fostering cultural understanding, promoting economic ties, and strengthening people-to-people connections. Director of Indian Museum, Mr. Arijit Dutta Chowdhury appreciated the initiative of Japan Foundation in organizing such exhibitions at Indian Museum several times.
The exhibition is open until December 17, 2025 from 10:00am to 6:00pm (except Mondays). This exhibition introduces YAKISHIME ceramics, which developed in distinctive directions in Japan, as a part of Japanese traditional culture. Please come with all your friends, relatives and associates and experience the craftsmanship of Japanese ceramics.
