Deputy Consul General ASHIDA participates in Anime India

On February 14, 2026, Deputy Consul General ASHIDA attended the opening ceremony of "Anime India," which was held for the first time in Kolkata. Although this event has taken place in other Indian cities before, this was its debut in Kolkata, and the venue was bustling with many visitors.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Consul General ASHIDA delivered a speech on the cultural ties between Japan and Kolkata, as well as the significance and influence of anime. He also held discussions with Mr. Susumu MITSUNAKA, director and scriptwriter of "Haikyuu!!," who participated from Japan, along with two members of mofmofmo and Misaki, who energized the stage with their live performance.
"Anime India" provided a valuable opportunity to promote cultural exchange between Japan and India and to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries through anime.
