An Evening in Japan (Tourism and Culture)

On March 5, 2026, Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata organized an event titled - An Evening in Japan (Tourism and Culture) jointly with India-Japan Friendship Center in collaboration with Hotel Association of Puri. The event was held at Holiday Resort, Puri.
Deputy Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. ASHIDA Katsunori, gave a presentation together with his remarks about Japan, as a potential tourist destination. It was followed by musical recital by Deputy Consul General ASHIDA while playing keyboard.
Mr. Kunna Dash, on behalf of India-Japan Friendship Center, spoke about Japan and its culture.
The session concluded with an interactive panel discussion.
Around 100 persons including tour operators, hoteliers, Japanese nationals and other enthusiasts of Odisha attended the entire event.

The following day, Deputy Consul General ASHIDA paid a visit to the Sun Temple at Konark, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
