On March 27, 2026, the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata organized a WASHOKU Demonstration and Workshop titled "SAVOR JAPAN," jointly with the Indian Institute of Hotel Management in Salt Lake. Deputy Consul General Ashida delivered a comprehensive presentation on Japanese cuisine, focusing especially on sushi, followed by a live sushi-making demonstration and an interactive workshop for the students of the Indian Institute of Hotel Management. Approximately 70 students had the unique opportunity to try their hand at sushi-making. Deputy Consul General Ashida praised the enthusiastic participation of the students throughout the workshop.
