On June 5, the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata organized the Kolkata Sushi Quest in collaboration with MainDish.in.
Deputy Consul General Mr. ASHIDA Katsunori, our very own “sushi chef”, crafted delicious sushi using fresh ingredients. The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, prominent food influencers, culinary enthusiasts to enjoy the authentic flavors of Japanese cuisine.
The highlight of the evening was a live sushi-making session by Deputy Consul General Mr. ASHIDA, whose demonstration offered attendees a closer look at the craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail that are central to Japanese cuisine, while also reflecting the growing accessibility of authentic Japanese food products in Kolkata.
