32nd In Nichi Bunkasai

Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata, in collaboration with Nihongo Kaiwa Kyookai Society (NKKS) organized the 32nd IN– NICHI BUNKASAI, a cultural evening with performances portraying Indo-Japan friendship, at Dr. Triguna Sen Auditorium, Jadavpur University, Kolkata on 11 March 2017.

The evening was graced by Mrs. Gouri  Bakshi, General Secretary, Indo-Japan Welfare & Cultural Association (IJWCA) as Chief Guest and Mr. Masayuki Taga, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata.

Mrs. Bakshi stated that IJWCA has always devoted itself for promotion of Indo-Japan friendship. She said that IJWCA has and will always continue to support the various activities undertaken to strengthen Indo-Japan bondage.

This was the first In Nichi Bunkasai to be attended by Mr. Taga as Consul General. He remarked that he feels that the performers and the audience who gathered for the evening are true friends of Japan. He also mentioned and thanked India's help to Japan during the Great East Japan Earthquake, since the day happened to be the remembrance day of the earthquake which occured six years ago.

A variety of Dance, Drama and Songs were performed in addition to a special performance by students of the Japanese Supplementary School. An interesting Japanese Picture Reading Show called ‘Kamishibai’ was also presented this year.
